Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Päivi Hakkarainen and I work as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the University of Lapland’s Centre for Media Pedagogy. And yes, that red wooden house there is our house in Finland. In this blog, you will find information about my academic work and studies within the fields of Media Education, Adult Education, and Social Psychology. During the academic year 2011-2012 I worked as a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at the Finlandia University, Michigan, USA. I have posted some of my thoughts about my stay in Michigan in this blog. The views and information presented  are my own and do not present the Fulbright program, the U.S. Department of State, or the Government of Finland.
