Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Päivi Hakkarainen and I work as a Senior Lecturer in Media Education at the University of Lapland’s Centre for Media Pedagogy. And yes, that red wooden house there is our house in Finland. In this blog, you will find information about my academic work and studies within the fields of Media Education, Adult Education, and Social Psychology. In Links, you will find work-related conferences, projects and resources that I find interesting.

During the academic year 2011-2012 I work as a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence at the Finlandia University, Michigan, USA. I will share some of my experiences and thoughts about my stay in Michigan in this blog. I will start posting them in Finnish and maybe later on in English, too.
